About Crown Gas and Power
Although Crown Gas and power was officially founded in 2001, shortly after the deregulation of the gas and power markets, its origins were with the creation of Crown Oil in 1928. Harry Greensmith under the name of Crown Oil sold firelighters, candles and lamp oil from the back of a horse and cart and was known locally as Harry Lamp Oil.
After the Second World War Crown Oil began trading in the bulk supply of both Fuel and lubricants.
